Our Little Man
We've been taking so many pictures of our little tyke that we thought it was time to share some of his "greatest hits." He is always so happy when he gets a tub. And he loves to cuddle up in his monster blanket we received from Nate and Jessica.

He made a great Santa.

Whenever he gets too excited to control himself he contorts his body and grabs his hands and squeezes. Lately, he has been giving us great big belly laughs that accompany his body contortions.
He made a great Santa.

Time for Thanksgiving
I love Thanksgiving. It has always been my favorite holiday. I love food yes, but it's but it's more than that. I love the crisp, blue skies and vibrant, falling leaves that accompany fall and welcome in winter. And I love that it truly is a time of Thanks, for I have much to be thankful for.
I'm thankful for family and campfires and smores and the woods,
I'm thankful that this is my view out my kitchen window... Timp is so beautiful,
I'm thankful I have a very comfortable bed (you can't look over the little things....)
I'm thankful for the sweet cherub that has entered my life.......
And I'm thankful for a good many other things as well.... the list could go on, but I'll keep it short.
I'm grateful for THANKSGIVING.

He's Arrived!
Maxwell Varner made his arrival two weeks ago. He is very sweet and mom, dad and Max are all adjusting to their new life quite well.....
He likes to sleep...... at least during the day :)
He likes to smile too.....
I think he'd had enough for the day...... (note the adorable knit hat under his head, made by Grandma Molly )
And he likes to hang out with dad while listening to music and being sung to.

Last Minute Trips Just the two of Us...
Everyone has advised Andy and I to 'get away' as much as we can before the wee one comes and life as we know it turns completely upside down. So.. we went to Baja with my sister and her husband for a little break and some deep sea fishing.
Thanks to my bro-in-law's expertise in finding the fish, Andy got to reel in TWO big marlin. He was a great fisherman :)
Love the 'fishing belt'. (It is actually pretty necessary bringing in those big boys. Looks funny but works like a charm)
We were close to the beach, so evening walks in the sand were oh so nice.
We took the hounds up the canyon hiking as well and are planning a little camping trip this weekend although I can't honestly say I am looking forward to the 'several times a night' bathroom trips to take place in the bushes. (BTW, I don't usually dress this glamorous.)
And I'm sad I don't have any pictures from when my sister Heather and her family came out from Pittsburgh for a few weeks last month. It was great to see them and we were able to enjoy some time at home in the lustrious potato land of Idaho. (I'm thrilled to say that Andy has personally stated Idaho has 'grown' on him and he enjoys going up there quite a bit! :O )

Trips, trips, trips
So Andy and I have been on a few trips over the past month. In the end of February, we went to Costa Rica. It is a beautiful country and I think a good time was had by all (aside from the morning sickness!)
This is Volcan Arenal, an active volcano Costa Rica is famous for. It sits right next to a large lake which we drove around. It was gorgeous! If ever we go back, we'll be spending our time around lake and volcan Arenal.
These were strange and rather scary creatures (notice the NAILS!) But we fed them some club crackers and it was entertaining to watch.

My favorite part was just driving around the country. There were so many amazing, picturesque views we were able to see!
After we got back from this trip Andy took a trip to southern California with his dad to watch tennis while I went back east to see my sister who just had a baby. Pictures from these trips will have to come later though!
